Mauritz Leland Granberg age 95 of Richfield. Born July 18, 1924 in Valley Springs, South Dakota to Mauritz and Minnie Granberg. Passed away December 25, 2019. Leland served in the US Navy during WWII. He taught physics and math at Sioux Falls College and served on the Board of Trustees. He held several engineering and managerial positions at Univac. Leland was a hardcore fisherman, avid photographer, inventor, patent holder, engineer, clarinet player, and so much more. Survived by children, Esther (Barry) Katz, Anne (David) Goetz, and Margaret (Todd) Brelje; grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Balota, Kim (Jon) Mailander, Jeremy & Carissa Nelson, and Grace Brelje; great-grandchildren, Tyler & Amber Balota, Sarai Abron Nelson, and Colton Mailander; and sister, Janet Granberg Scott. Preceded in death by loving wife of 51 years, Alvina; and brother, Vernon Granberg. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, 1 Tower Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55450. Visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Thinking of those days, so long ago now, when uncle Leland and family would visit us. I hadn’t seen him in quite a while, but I remember those summer visits fondly and carry those warm feelings in my heart as I know everyone who knew Leland does as well. Esther, Anne and Margaret you have my deepest sympathies.
