Nancy Schaible, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at Havenwood Assisted Living in Richfield, MN on April 15, 2025, as the result of complications from Parkinson disease. Nancy embraced life with enthusiasm and faced death with the certainty of eternal life. She was born in Mankato, MN to parents Clarence and Irene (Anderson) Schaible. She was one of 14 children. Following graduation from high school, Nancy attended Presentation College School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD and later received her master's degree at the University of St. Thomas. Her career as a registered nurse included many years at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, a short period of nursing at University Hospital Center of Beni Messous, Algiers and twenty-five years as a nursing educator at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Minneapolis. She was well known for her high nursing standards and tried to instill these standards in her students. She enjoyed travels to many countries including Turkey and the Holy Land. Nancy cherished her time at family dinners and celebrations. She loved reading, playing cards and dominoes with her many friends.
She was an active member of Assumption Church in Richfield, Minnesota where she served as Eucharist Minister, Outreach Minister and was active in Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. Nancy was also an active member of the Church of St. Edward Catholic church in Bloomington, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Henry Koehler; sisters, MaryAnn Caswell, Harriet Glackler, and Gloria Koehler; brothers, Norman Schaible, Thomas Schaible, Robert Schaible, William Schaible, Ronald Koehler, and Richard Koehler. She is survived by her sisters, Diane Patrick, Shakopee, MN, Phyllis (Mike) Brunswick, Dayton, MN, Karen (Dick) Thorman, Paynesville, MN; brother, Steve (Barbara) Koehler, Minneapolis, MN. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and dear friends also survive her.
Memorials in Nancy's name preferred to University of St. Thomas, or Parkinson’s Foundation, St. Paul, MN.
