Nancy Laura Kiesling
Age 93, passed away peacefully on February 26. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nancy was born in Minneapolis in 1931 to Clarence and Dorothy Peterson. After graduating from Macalester College in 1953, Nancy began a brief career as an art teacher at Warren High School, followed by Osseo High School. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles Allan Kiesling Sr, and began a career as a homemaker where she and Charles raised their five children.
Nancy was very active in several organizations including the Mayflower Society, multiple book clubs and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). During her time with the DAR, she served as a state officer and chapter regent. She also volunteered her time working at the historic Sibley House in Mendota Heights.
After Charles retired in 1993, Nancy and Charles enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and traveling across the country in their Winnebago.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; father, Clarence; mother, Dorothy; and brother, Burton Peterson.
Nancy is survived by daughter, Dorothy McPherson (Lyaman); sons, Charles Jr. (Rose), Gregory (Stacey), Howard (Paul Massmann), and Douglas (Neva Andersen); grandchildren, Alaina, Ashley, Thomas, Candace, Nicholas and Laura; and great-grandchildren, Oliver, Virginia and Ellie.
