Ralph B. Sandquist,

Ralph Burton Sandquist, the son of Harold & Florence Sandquist was born in Minneapolis, MN on January 29, 1929. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. He was employed as a bookkeeper for 41 years at Bunge Corporation, retiring in April 1988. Ralph lived all his life in Minneapolis except for the last 14 months. In March 2017, he moved to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon, IA and recently moved to Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, where he passed away on May 5, 2018.
On September 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Lois Moehrle. Ralph and Lois were married 64 ½ years before Lois’ passing in April 2015. To this union two children were born, Barbara and David.
Ralph enjoyed working in his yard, planting flowers and tending to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed hockey and played into his fifties with his high school teammates. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. He also liked to refinish furniture and cane chairs. He was very patient, kind, and loving to all those he knew.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Barbara (David) Popkes and son, David (Kim) Sandquist; grandchildren, Sarah (Hans) Wagenaar, Scott (Annie) Popkes, Jason (Lacey) Sandquist, Jeff (Laura) Sandquist, Krista (friend, Jeff) Sandquist, and Jenel (Nick) Zink; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Maddilyn Wagenaar, Lyla Popkes and Evelyn and Arlo Sandquist; as well as other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by beloved wife, Lois; his parents; brother, Arthur (Pauline); sister, Marjory (John) Hovelsrud.
