Judy and Family, our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to you all on Randy’s home-going. We know where he is and we know that among Christians there are no final good-byes. We will all be rejoicing at the reunion that never ends. Our prayer for you is that the wonderful memories of your time with him will help you through this time of sorrow and grief and that you feel the warm embrace of our Lord and Savior as we rest in His promise that “Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning”. Randy was a very special friend and always had a great perspective on life and our role in it here on earth. He was patient and kind everywhere but on the golf course where he got a little tense sometimes. He always had a moment for others and was a wonderful teacher and advisor in school, in church and in life. We are better for have known him. That cannot be said of many people. He will be missed but not forgotten.
You are all In our prayers,
Denny and Marti
Dear Judy and Family,
There are no words that can express the incomprehensible mixture of grief and joy that we feel at the passing of your belovèd husband, Randy. We weep and mourn with you, yet we rejoice in the sure knowledge that Randy now sees his Lord and Savior face-to-face and lives anew in his heavenly home with all the saints triumphant.
Every day, in our prayers, we give thanks for the privilege of knowing you these many years. We pray that God will give you and all your family and friends that blessèd peace that is beyond our comprehension, and the comfort that only the Spirit of Christ can bestow.
May God bless and keep you all in grace, hope, and the assurance that you will be united with Randy in that heavenly place where there will be no sorrow or sighing, but only eternal joy, praise,
and thanksgiving.
We remain most affectionately yours,
Judy and Family,
Know that you are all in our prayers. Randy was a huge influence on so many of us, it’s hard to capture it all. He is with his Savior and that’s certain.

May God give you comfort and peace. Pastor Sherren was a blessing and inspiration to so many. His funny anecdotes, his wise counsel, and his gift of teaching were one of a kind and irreplaceable. He was a true godsend to Lutheran High as he knew how to pull people out of the shadows and give them hope. I am just one of many who are grateful for having him as a teacher.
Judy, I am so sorry to hear that Randy has passed away. I remember so many fond memories of Randy as our youth Pastor at Redemption and the many retreats that were attended. I still have the picture and have in my memory Randy’s Magic Show!! Randy was definitely admired by me during those youth years! I learned so much in those years.
Please know you and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Judy and Family,
On behalf of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church, I convey my deepest condolences in Christ on the Home call of Pastor Sherren.
Lord have mercy!

Greetings family and friends,
Where to begin about the life and passing of “the world’s most interesting preacher.” That’s what the staff at Berea called Randy borrowing from a Dos Equis beer commercial. And he had several other attributes , including intrepid boater (on Cross Lake), evangelical golfer (he actually did a sermon titled “Golfing with Jesus”) “holding court at the conclusion of a meal regaling everyone with his unending recollection of stories (“that reminds me of …..”)most of which were hilarious and too numerous to count and just generally defying the stereotype of an LCMS theologian/parish pastor. And he was also a great preacher, renowned for his clever and inspirational sermons and ability to hold the attention and appreciation of his thoughtful and educational address. And there is more. He was also a wonderful father, devoted to his grandchildren and their spiritual development and education. And so proud of their many accomplishments. And Judy – what can we say, long suffering as we are sure she “heard that one before”, many times. What a love story. The only human fault was his insufferable loyalty to Wisconsin Badger athletics. Randy often concluded his sermons with “that’s all I got.” But his life and faith demonstrated there was so much more for which we can all be thankful now and in eternity. Don’t mean to be trite but he truly will be missed.
Blessings,
Jim and Bobbie Roegge
Dear Judy, family and friends,
Our prayers are with you in this difficult time. May the Resurrected Lord Jesus comfort you and give you the certain hope of reunion in heaven. I had Prof. Sherren for many classes while attending CSP. I became a Lutheran teacher and have used so many words, thought and images that go right back to him. I wanted to attend the service today, but the weather and my illness made that impossible. The English language is wholly inadequate for expressing what is in my heart. He had such a profound impact on me and my own ministry. He was one of the profs that interviewed me for acceptance into my professional program. I never forget what he said to me afterwards. He told me that he would trust me to be a teacher for his own children. I also remember the first sermon I heard him preach at CSP. His “point” was: If true joy is to come into your heart, this Christmas, the fear has got to go! His message had humor and was of course, well crafted. I was just a young farm boy; I had never heard preaching like that! He knew His Savior well and shared Him with us! I am so thankful for the ways he touched my life and the lives of SO many. Love and peace from Jesus!
I remember Randy when I went to school at Mount -Hope Redemption Lutheran school. I moved to 74 and Penn in Richfield and soon discovered he was the pastor at Berea Lutheran. I went to another church although I would go there on Thursdays occasionally. He was very creative. I went to the 6 or 6;30 service on easter and the service started in the Narthax and the congregation would walk into the sanctuary singing Jesus Christ has Risen today. He will be missed
