Richard W. "Dick" Strasburg, age 85 of Richfield, born May 10, 1930, in Des Moines, IA and died November 18, 2015, following complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Dick was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of Richfield American Legion Post 435 and Fred Babcock VFW post 5555, Richfield. He was a member of the American Swedish Institute, the Vasa Order of America and other Swedish organizations. He began an early career in Law Enforcement and later retired after a career in Real Estate. He had a lifelong enjoyment of music and founded the Richfield Symphonic Band, formerly the 435 American Legion Band. He played with the Shrine band and numerous others. Preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Evelyn Strasburg; brothers, Donald, Harold and Bernard; sister, Arlene Weese; and sister-in-law, Ann-Marie Hansson and her husband Ove. Survived by wife of 62 years, Gunn "Gwen"; son, Kurt (Renee); brother-in-law, Goran (Barbro) Lindh; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
