Born in Minneapolis on November 3, 1948, Robert B. "Bob" Hanson passed away peacefully at the N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN on September 7, 2013 at the age of 64. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and June Hanson, and his brother David.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Gary, Richard (Lana), Joyce (Robert) Elleraas and James; nieces and nephews, Thomas Hanson, Jon (Melissa) Crow, Patrick (Janell) Elleraas, Stephanie (Michael) Louden, Kristen (Sean) Hench, Lori Elleraas and Jenni Beal; great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Austin, Kayla, Jack, Alek, Alex, Piper, Alyssa, Savannah and Carter.
Bob, a resident of St. Paul, was a graduate of Washburn High School in Minneapolis, and a long-time (45 years ) employee of the Minnesota State Services for the Blind (SSB). At SSB, he worked in the Engineering Department where he carried out numerous responsibilities over the years, including the creation and management of audio books for the blind.
Bob was a uniquely talented individual, gifted musically, artistically and technologically - and freely gave of his talents to friends and family alike. He was a kind and generous person who gave of himself and his treasure to those in need. And, to a group of nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews, he was "Uncle Bob" - a loving, caring presence who everyone cherished. We will all miss Bob greatly, but we are thankful that he was a blessed and enriching part of our lives.
