June 12, 1940 - April 14, 2020
Age 79 of Richfield. Passed away on April 14, 2020. Robert was born on June 12, 1940, and other than an enviable Naval career in Hawaii, he called Minneapolis his home. Although his health had been declining over the last few years, he never lost his charm. With a twinkle in his eye and a cheeky sense of humor, Bob could charm his way into the heart of everyone he met. Bob had a gift when it came to socializing. Within moments of meeting Bob, he could make you feel like you were old friends. And if you were lucky enough to know Bob, you knew he loved his family. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Jan; Sons, Terry (Mari) and Todd (Shari); and the true apples of his eyes, his grandgirls, Angela, Nicole, and Amanda; also his loving brothers, Richard and Dwain. Preceded in death by his mother Mabel; and son, Brian. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 14 at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S, Richfield. Visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Both Bob and Jan were so gracious to me when I was a new square dancer and always made me feel special and welcome. Bob was a true ambassador for square dancing and lived what it meant to be a friend to all.
Jan: I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a very kind, funny man. My prayers for you at this time. Claudia
Dear Jan and Family,
Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Surely you were blessed to have him . He was as kind as he was gracious and all who knew him knew he was genuine. We were among the many square dancers who were lucky to have him as a partner or a corner. One of the reasons we loved square dancing so much was because of people like Bob and Jan. Within a few minutes of being in his presence you felt as if you had a good friend and Jan is that way too. It’s been many years since we have danced but the happy memories live within our hearts. God Bless You. Surely your wonderful memories with Bob brings smiles thru the sadness.
Lovingly,
Connie and Don Lundell (dancers from 1994 -l999)
