Roger D. Leary - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

Roger D. Leary, age 83 of Richfield. Passed away on November 4. He taught math at the Richfield High Schools for 32 years before retiring as the head of the Math Department. He finished his career at St. Olaf College. He loved his family, especially supporting his sons and their hockey games. Preceded in death by his son, Richard. Survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Elaine; sons, Roger (Roxanne) Leary and Randall (Elizabeth) Leary; daughter-in-law, Nataliya Leary; grandchildren, Richard, Breanna, Jake, Brooke, Ryan and Rodney; sister, Rhoda (Charles) Latting and a brother, Rolfe (Barbara) Leary; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

    Elaine and Family, the East High Class of 1954 sends its sympathy in the death of your husband and father.
    The world has lost another fine teacher, but Roger must have clarified the world of mathematics for so very many over such a long period of time. Bless his heart!

    Elaine and family,, my sympathy to all of you. I started school, riding the same bus, and graduating with Roger. He was a great person and will be missed. Hello and sympathy also to Rhoda and Rolfe. They will remember me as Margaret Brown. God be with you all.

    My condolences on your loss. Mr. Leary was my encouraging and kind high school math teacher. I remember him patiently explaining complex concepts. May his memory be blessed.
