Sharon Boysen Bauer, age 78, of Champlin, formerly of Richfield, passed away June 20, 2023.
Sharon was born in Hayfield, Minnesota, attended Hayfield schools, first in country school and then Hayfield High School. After graduating, she spent two years working in the Graphic Arts Department at Iowa State in Ames. After attending the University of Minnesota for a year, she began her business career working for several companies in the twin city area. While working for the City of Richfield, she bought WorkForce Secretarial Service in Bloomington that she ran until she retired in 2007.
Sharon was active in professional organizations like American Professional Secretarial Association, Religious Organizations such as 494 Ministries Lutheran Student groups at the University of Minnesota. She also was active in social groups like German American Karneval Spielmannszug Minnesota.
Sharon was an avid downhill skier, loved adventure camping with her family, and dancing especially the polka and two step. She was introduced to more fishing and hunting than she ever thought possible when she married Jim. Fishing became her favorite past time. Melgeorges at Elephant Lake in northern Minnesota became her favorite vacation spot.
Sharon is survived by her husband, James Bauer; stepchildren, Ann Bauer Malling, Joseph Bauer (Tracy), Andrew Bauer (Joy), David Dahl and Mark Dahl (Chris); grandchildren, Stephen Malling (Katie), Ethan Bauer and Alex Dahl; great-granddaughter, Poppy Malling; brother, George Boysen (April), Charlene Gilman (David) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Gordon Dahl; parents, George and Esther Boysen.
Memorials preferred to The Gathering at Zion Lutheran in Anoka (a respite for people with dementia).
