I knew Steve for many years through Twin Cities Lutheran Singles (TCSLA). He was always one of the officers of that group. He did so much for them. Also, he would be at the small New Year’s Eve parties I had at my home before covid. And Steve was in a little “birthday group” of 8 of us who were not from TCSLA. We even had some outdoor meetings when there were covid restrictions. Everyone remembered Steve for his Ole & Lena jokes.
I could walk to his house, & sometimes brought him a chocolate treat when he was homebound. Four of us from TCSLA visited him at his Main St. apt. on July 31. He showed us the apt, and told about repairing the chimney on his house. We brought cookies & he had made coffee. I am thankful that we got together with him then. We all will miss Steve.

Steve was a regular visitor to the Richfield Community Center, where he served on the Senior Advisory Board, volunteered with Senior Dining and AARP, and participated in different programs. He was such a pleasant guy to be around and I was always glad to see him. I’ll miss him.

  3. Tracy M. Tolzmann says:

Steve was a devoted member of the Block-Heads tent of the Sons of the Desert, the Twin Cities branch of the international Laurel & Hardy club. He attended our monthly meetings routinely and loved the films of Stan & Ollie. With his decline in health recently, he reluctantly cancelled his reservation for our September meeting, and the club was shocked to hear of his passing at our October gather the Sunday following his death. A collection was taken in Steve’s memory that will be donated to charity.
