Stephen Gregg Penney - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

February 23, 1936 - January 14, 2024

Stephen Gregg Penney, of Richfield, suddenly passed away Jan. 14, 2024, age 87, he was in transitional care after a brief hospital stay. God willing he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Janet, who he had dearly missed for 15 yrs.

Steve/Gregg grew up in Osage, IA, served in the Army, married and attended Dunwoody to become a diesel truck mechanic. He was employed 27 years at Mack Trucks, then Taystee & Metz Baking before retiring from Metro Transit (MTC). He was a very hard working man who only wanted the best for his family, and no project was too big for him to tackle. Enjoyment was found at the cabin with family/friends, and of course the annual Canadian fishing trip, where he’d be planning the next one before he even got home!

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet; parents, Earl & Evabel Penney; brother, Dean Penney; and in-laws, Melburn and Frances Smalley.

Survived by children, Debora (Steven) Miller, and Stephen J. Penney; sisters-in-law, Karen Fox & Joyce (Neal) DuShane; nieces/nephews, John, Mike, Chuck, Dianna, Lynn & Mike; great nieces and nephews and some very special neighbors & friends.

Love Ya Always!!!
