Tomas Perez - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

March 7, 1955 - May 27, 2024

*******

Tomas Perez, a man of great generosity and kindness, was born on March 7, 1955 in La Florida, Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico to Aurora Meza Perez, and Cruz Perez Espinoza. As the eldest of 13 siblings (Abigail, Irma, Carmelo, Cruz, Imelda, Manuela, Armando, Jose, Antonia, Aurora, Baltazar, and Manuel), Tomas naturally embraced the role of caretaker and leader, especially following the passing of his father. He was a beacon of support and opportunity for his family, ensuring that many of his siblings had the chance for a better life in the United States.

Seeking greater opportunities, Tomas moved to the United States, where his hard work and determination led to the creation of his successful business adventures: Perez Cleaning Services, Video store, Laundromat, Tom’s New and Used Furniture Store. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, he was always willing to help those in need, often providing jobs to individuals through his companies. His giving nature extended beyond his family to anyone who crossed his path needing assistance or a second chance.

Tomas loved spending time at his lake house, a place where he found peace and happiness. Surrounded by family, these moments were the highlights of his life. His children, Arleene (Pablo) and Thomas, and grandchildren, Marissa, Pablo, Marcos, and Camila were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment with them.

His character was marked by a forgiving and understanding nature. He never held a grudge and always approached situations with an open heart. Tomas had one of the biggest hearts and was deeply committed to his family, consistently offering support and guidance.

As we gather to remember Tomas, we reflect on his legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering support for those around him. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. Tomas will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the memories and love shared by his family and friends.

Tomas was the father of my co-worker/friend. He was kind, down-to-earth, and a big heart. He was funny and enthusiastic. He made us feel like family. We attended many family occasions with them. One event that I will not forget was when he invited us to his lake house for dinner. He prepared steak for us. We were late because Dan, my husband, had to work. Tomas waited and said, “No Dan, no steak!” We all laughed when we came and had a wonderful steak dinner. We thought highly of him. He will be missed. Thank you, Tomas. ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO TOMAS, and LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM. MAY HE REST IN PEACE. AMEN. ❤️
