Sean Patrick Lipinski
Sean died December 27, 2022 at the age of 42 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital following complications from an aggressive brain tumor.
Sean was born to Sharon and Joseph Lipinski on October 13, 1980, in Minneapolis, MN and grew up in Stillwater, MN, the eldest of five children. Sean was a devoted father to two beautiful daughters, a doting husband, and a loving son, sibling, and friend to many. Sean was a musician, a rock climber, a craft beer enthusiast, and collector of records and music gear.
Sean became a father on January 29, 2008, with the birth of his daughter Madeline. He gave the world a second daughter, Tabitha, on March 17, 2016. Sean was a proud dad who took his daughters on adventures in nature, including trips to Joshua Tree, Rocky Mountain National Park, Mount Hood National Forest, and Zion National Park. He encouraged both daughters to express themselves through music and art and loved them with everything he had.
Sean married Samantha Lipinski, née Meehl, on June 28, 2014. He and Samantha cherished ten beautiful years together, supporting each other and creating a warm home for their family.
Sean received his first guitar at the age of thirteen and fell in love with making music. Throughout his life, he played in bands including Holding On, The Real Enemy, Regret, Comeback Kid, and Sunset. He had the opportunity to tour with these bands across the United States and made friends everywhere he went.
Sean is preceded in death by his sister, Bridget Lipinski Clifton; grandmother, Olga Naughton; grandfather, Thomas Naughton; grandfather, Donald Lipinski; and grandmother, Margaret Lipinski. Sean is survived by his wife, Samantha (née, Meehl) Lipinski; daughters, Madeline Luhman and Tabitha Lipinski; parents, Sharon and Joseph Lipinski; brothers, Matthew Lipinski and Michael Lipinski; sister, Caitlin Lipinski; brother-in-law, Cody Clifton; mother of Madeline, Jennifer Luhman; parents-in-law, David and Shelly Meehl; sisters-in-law, Angela Pirkl and Heather Klein; brother-in-law, Jesse Meehl; and a large clan of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Love and light to all Sean’s family and friends. I got to know Sean only over the previous few years but he left a big impression on me as a talented musician, and extraordinarily kind man. Greatly missed he will be. Rest easy, brother. – L
Sending love and prayers to the Lipinski family. Sean and I were only acquaintances (via the 90s-early 2000s TC hardcore scene), but I always regarded him as a good guy and funny character. The 1st time I remember meeting him was in line to see the band Snapcase open for the Deftones, making fun of the Nu Metal fans. I know Sean had thousands of those little moments that will ripple through eternity with the hundreds of people he touched in big and small ways throughout his life.
Sam, this is a stunning tribute to your Sean. I love you and I am so here for you.

Sean was an amazing poppa to his two girls, a kind hearted man who adored his wife, he was a true lover of nature and music, he was an adventurous soul, he loved all things outdoors and teaching his girls the love for the simple things in life. Sean truly touched those he interacted with, he was gentle and loving with a little bit of humor. I enjoyed us hiking, rocking climbing with the family. I still have the rock climbing shoes he gave me when he found out I was getting into climbing at vertical endeavors, he is and was a beautiful loving friend. I know for certain he left a big impression on the world, he is beloved and most importantly will be remembered as one amazing human being. Thank you Sean for everything, thank you for your kindness. Sam, I love you very much, Sean always said how strong of a person you were and I know you’ll dig into that strength now for Sean and your beautiful daughters and family.
